The woman behind the shadows
From my earliest memories, I've always had a book in my hand. With each passing year, they've been my constant. My sanctuary, my trophies, and my greatest obsession. It was my absolute love of books, their stories, the far away lands I'd visited through their pages and countless lives I've lived alongside their characters that inspired me to write my own.
Having always had a certain fascination with the "strange and unusual" (cue Lydia Deetz), it probably shouldn't have been a surprise when my alpha reader dubbed me a gothic horror writer. At the time, I had been working on a dark romance novel for years. But it was a short horror story tucked within its pages that brought me to life.
The decision to set aside my dark romance was an easy one. Writing that short little horror story filled me with so much joy that I hadn't been expecting. It felt natural. It felt exciting.
It felt like…me. 🖤
